Mariah

Mariah Atwood is a trumpet player from Clinton, Mississippi. She studied at the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Trumpet Performance in May of 2023. Atwood currently studies under Dr. Chris Underwood and has also studied with T.J. Tesh, Ben Bullock, and many others. She attended the National Trumpet Competition in 2019 in the high school solo division, in 2022 with the USM Advanced Trumpet Ensemble, and in 2023 for both the solo and ensemble divisions. She also attended The Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar in 2022 and 2023. Mariah served as principal of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra during her time at the University of Southern Mississippi. Most recently, Mariah has accepted a graduate assistantship at the University of Delaware in pursuit of her Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance.
